Ever since the birth of my first child, pregnancy and babies have always been my greatest passion in life. I am the mother of six amazing children (4 births) aged two to thirteen.
Working in the birth world since 2012, I opened Birth Essentials to help women have easier access to affordable birthing supplies.
In the last 13 years, I have been an active participant at local Le Leche League meetings and personally have a total of 7 years of breastfeeding experience, including tandem feeding. I am also specificially trained in Lactation Management as well as holding my CPR-C Certified. I have supported a number families after the birth of their children, including night stays at the hospital. The move to working as a Postpartum Doula felt like the perfect fit. I am looking forward to supporting mothers, babies, and their families during this beautiful time in their lives.
"I had an emergency c-section after 3 days of labour with my daughter. During the following 5 days, I remained in the hospital for recovery. Colette helped in many ways. As it was difficult for me to move around, let alone pickup my newborn, who had jaundice, Colette stayed with me to assist with the baby. She changed her diaper, swaddled her, calmed her when she was fussing, walked around with her, brought her to me when I needed to feed her. She also helped with latching, as the baby and I were both having a hard time getting a proper latch. She also stayed through the night a couple times to help me with the baby. She was an amazing postpartum support and I can’t wait to use her again if I have another baby."
